THIEL PR wins PR account for Saxon Switzerland

THIEL PR is taking over strategic media relations for the Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association. The collaboration covers year-round press and public relations work for one of Germany’s best-known nature and active tourism destinations.

The focus will be on further sharpening the region’s profile as a unique national park destination, strengthening year-round tourism, and communicating key tourism products such as the Malerweg Trail and the Elbe Cycle Route.

With its striking sandstone formations, deep gorges, and extensive hiking and cycling trails, Saxon Switzerland is one of Germany’s most important nature travel destinations. As part of the mandate, THIEL Public Relations will support the destination with strategic media relations, content production, press trips, and proactive media outreach to relevant travel, leisure, lifestyle, and news media.

Measures aimed at influencers and tourism multipliers are also planned.

A particular focus will be placed on topics such as sustainable mobility, nature-based active experiences, slow travel, accessible travel, and targeted visitor management in the national park area. In addition, seasonal offers and travel occasions outside the main season will be brought more strongly into the focus of communications.

“Saxon Switzerland is one of Europe’s most impressive natural landscapes and at the same time offers a wide range of strong themes — from hiking and cycling to sustainable tourism, cultural experiences, and regional discoveries,” says Sebastian Thiel, Managing Director of THIEL PR. “We are very pleased by the trust placed in us by the tourism association and look forward to further increasing the region’s visibility through strategically aligned media relations.”

The agency has many years of experience in communicating tourism destinations, tourism infrastructure projects, and tourism service providers. Previous references include the Elbe Cycle Route, Saale-Unstrut Tourism, Königstein Fortress, the Lusatian Lakeland, Dresden Elbland, as well as international destinations and tourism organizations.

With this account win, THIEL Public Relations is further expanding its position as an agency specializing in tourism communications in the German-speaking market.
