The lunar landscape left behind by earlier opencast brown coal mining between Berlin and Dresden has been turned into an attractive holiday destination in a very short time. In the Lusatian Lakeland over 20 flooded lakes and navigable canals are being developed to become the biggest lakes and water landscape in Europe. The region is especially attractive for water-loving holidaymakers, water sports and cyclists. The Lusatian Lakeland also has much to offer the cultural visitor as well: Witnesses of the opencast mining industry are preserved as museum exhibits, or entertainment venues where they will be enjoying a new lease of life.

With immediate effect, we are taking on national publicity and PR work for the Lusatian Lakes Tourism Association, which was only established in 2012. Main theme of the developing tourism region is "active relaxation in a region in the throes of conversion from an opencast mining landscape to a holiday region".

We have already been collaborating In the context of publicity and PR work since 2013 with the working party on "Barrier-free Tourism Destinations in Germany" with the Lusatian Lakes Tourism Association and we look forward to the new challenge and the exciting task of setting up publicity campaigns and communications for this new holiday destination.
